Pruning / SHaping

Tree pruning is sometimes required to remove decaying or dead branches.

Pruning also has the ability to make a tree look more attractive by increasing the amount of sunlight the undergrowth gets.

When pruning, it is important that the tree’s limbs are kept unimpaired, as they help the tree to stay upright. If any part of a tree has been damaged, or there are dead branches, it is essential that they be removed right away.

Tree pruning must be done with much care. If pruning is done wrong, the tree could be in danger of varying fungus growth and attraction of insects into the area.

Crown Reduction

Crown reduction is performed on trees that have become too large for their surroundings.

The crown contains all of the leaves and branches that separate from the trunk of the tree. At times, crown may become excessive. It is possible to reduce this if it has grown outside of its limits (branches hanging close to a power line, or over a fence). You can also reduce the crown for aesthetic purposes - this is known as vista pruning.
